From balance bikes to budding EWS stars of the future, we've got races for all the kids to enjoy.
EWS-KIDS: Launching Summer 2021
EWS-KIDS gives the young rippers, from 2 - 16 years old, an opportunity to ride at the same EWS Race Festival as their mountain biking heros.
On Saturday 2nd October, we've got fun, non-competitive races for the younger kids, right up to fully timed, competitive races for the EWS pros of the future.
The race trails are within walking distance of the Festival Village so there will be great spectating opportunities for all the family!
There will be medals and EWS goodies as well as a chance to get onto the official EWS podium!
Tickets will go on sale in summer 2021 and we're expecting demand to be high! To ensure you get notified, of the release dates, sign up to our newsletter.
2-5 years old
A non-competitive event for tots on balance bikes and first pedal bikes.
This mellow trail will be right next to the Festival Village, giving our youngest riders, maximum fun, a great atmosphere and easy access to all the amenities their parents/carers will need.
5-8 years old
Our Little Rippers will get the chance to ride one of the EWS-KIDS enduro stages, on a solo time trial. It's all about having fun and getting your time in a non-competitive race environment.
A mountain bike with minimum 20" wheels is required.
7-12 years old
The Shred Squad will ride two EWS-KIDS stages! First, a solo time trial, then a downhill slalom. Like the Little Rippers, this is all about having fun and getting your time in a non-competitive race environment.
A mountain bike with both front and rear brakes is required.
9-16 years old
As the stepping stone from EWS-KIDS to the EWS 80, the Juniors category is where the serious fun starts for competent youth riders.
There will be 3 race stages for the EWS Juniors, a solo time trial, a downhill slalom and a technical stage. This is a competitive event, a taste of what a real EWS race is like. Get your times, have fun and be in with the chance of winning some prizes.
A mountain bike with front suspension and two working brakes is required.
A big thank you to the local cycling clubs for delivering EWS-KIDS on our behalf. For us it's important that we work at the grassroots level of the sport to support and bring on the next generation of champions, and to continue to make it more inclusive and accessible for all.
These organisations and the individuals within them are helping us achieve this.
