We're working with some amazing global EWS partners and local businesses on a host of fringe events at the EWS Tweed Valley.

Global Film Premiere
Sit back, relax and enjoy a Tempest Beer whilst GMBN's Rich Payne and some very special guests host an evening of MTB film fun at the EWS Tweed Valley Beer Tent, for the Global Premiere of Tea and Biscuits 2!

A Tom Caldwell production filmed for James McKnight and Misspent Summers.
Catch the global premiere on Thursday 2nd June at 7pm.

Tickets are £12 including a free Tempest Brewery Beer or juice for under 18's.

Mighty Oak Sound System
Mighty Oak are a roots and dub reggae soundsystem and record label, based in Scotland.
They've made a name for themselves as a soundsystem with a warm clear sound and beautiful looks, and as a record label releasing tunes played out by the likes of Jah Shaka, Channel One and Manasseh.
​
Mighty Oak will be playing on Friday 3rd June between 5pm - 10.30pm at the Tempest Beer Tent.

Demos
Bike DEMO comes to EWS Tweed Valley, with Santa Cruz, YT, Ibis, KTM, Airdrop, Frog Bikes, Nukeproof and more still to come. 🙌
There will be guided rides and individual demo options, all taking place on the EWS Demo Loop. More details on how to book coming soon!

Whisky Shortcut
This is your chance to showcase your talent at the EWS Whisky Shortcut race.
In partnership with Bspoke Cycles, take on the challenge of this awesome course, drifting, shredding and sending it through the beer tent, then over, under and through the many obstacles on your way!
Take the straight line through the Whisky Shortcut (and grab a dram), or choose the longer B-line route to the finish!

Dirt School Ride Out
Dirt School Ride Out featuring the easier enduro trails and Innerleithen classics such as Green Wing & Angry Sheep.
Riders should meet at Tweed Valley Bikes, 60 High Street, Innerleithen and be ready to ride for 6pm.

Ride out takes place Tuesday 31st May at 6 - 8.30pm
Tickets are £5, which will be donated to the Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue (minus admin fees).

Send It Skills
Join the Chain Reaction Team and other EWS Pros, such as Katy Winton and Noga Korem, Dirt School, KICC, PCC, and Cranked Cycle Club for an exclusive MTB skills and coaching session!
Coaching will be delivered at St Ronan's Primary School, by the amazing teams from Dirt School, KICC and PCC and Cranked Cycle Club, with tonnes of cool equipment provided by Sender Ramps.

Location: St Ronan's Primary School, Wednesday 1st June, 6-8pm
Suitable for children aged 9-16

Tickets to the event will cost £5, which will be donated to the Tweed Valley Trail Association.

Ride Outs
Bike Valley Trails will be hosting a gravel ride out on Friday 3rd June 2022 at 10am-12:30pm.
Ride out starts from the EWS Tweed Valley Festival Village. You'll need your own gravel bike and typical gear for a 2 hour ride out.
​
Take in the stunning scenery of the Tweed Valley on a route just under 20km, with a combination of Forest tracks, some single track, and quiet country lanes.
​
Donation: The £5 fee for the event (minus admin fees) will be donated to the Tweed Valley Trail Association.

Dirt School Pro Coach Days
Would your kids love to ride with a Pro rider at Glentress?
​
Well here's their chance to ride with Miranda Miller or Caleb Holonko!
Delivered as half day sessions at Glentress, taking in jumps as well as technical trails, alongside Dirt School coaches, Miranda and Caleb will be on hand to inspire the youngsters and offer plenty of useful tips and advice on their technical riding!

Kona Dig Day with TVTA
Come and earn some extra trail karma and a bit of swag by joining Kona Gravity Team riders, Miranda Miller and Caleb Holonko for a day digging with the TVTA crew.
​
Travelling to Innerleithen to race the EWS, Caleb and Miranda look forward to spending extra time in Innerleithen meeting more members of the riding community and there’s no better way to do so than out in the woods moving dirt!
Holonko is responsible for the creation and maintenance of many North Shore trails, and while Miranda isn’t as experienced in trail building she’s strong and great at following instructions!

SESTrans Intro to E-Bikes
The South East of Scotland Transport Partnership is launching a regional e-bike program; GO e-Bike with the aim of increasing usage and awareness of power-assisted cycling across the South East of Scotland and beyond.
GO e-Bikes launches with 5 different projects in St. Andrew’s, Buckhaven, West Lothian and Falkirk and will also be encouraging employers to get involved with a ‘Try a GO e-Bike Roadshow’.
GO e-Bike aims to promote a healthier more active population, reduce inequalities in our communities and improve our environment.
SESTrans will be offering a guided ride starting from Caberston Cafe in Walkerburn along the cycle path to Cardrona then back - finishing with cake and coffee!

At this years EWS, on Sunday 5th June, there will be a local maker’s market in the
Festival Village showcasing some incredible local businesses.
We want to celebrate our brilliant local produce and provide local food, drink, craft and art makers the chance to engage with our international mtb audience.

Cycling Without Age Trishaw Launch
The local community have brought Cycling Without Age Scotland to Innerleithen and on Saturday 4th June they are launching the town's own trishaw.
Cycling Without Age Scotland generates “miles of smiles” in every part of Scotland. It enriches and enhances lives, unlocks doors, enables older and disabled people to once again be an active part of their communities, once again to “feel the wind in their hair”, to rekindle old friendships and to make new ones and to rejoice in heart-warming stories. This is unparalleled access.
Come along to see the trishaw, meet the team behind it and get your legs powered up by taking some of the community for a spin around Inners.

Great Borders River Clean
Join Green Tweed Eco,Trash Free Trails and the Enduro World Series Crew on Sunday 29th May for a community Borders river clean!
​
The Great Borders River Clean & Trash Free Trails EWS Big Tidy Up is part of a continued wider effort to clean the region’s waterways of rubbish and will involve more than twenty towns and villages.
​
Over the last two years, thousands of volunteers have removed more than 10,000kg of rubbish from rivers and streams across the region.
​
If you'd like to get involved, you can meet the crew at the Innerleithen Red Bull Car Park at 9.30am.

The Innerleithen Pipe Band Competition is coming to the Tweed Valley on Saturday the 4th June.

Heritage Walk
Led by those who have a deep knowledge of the cultural heritage of Innerleithen, from the mills that once powered the area’s economy to ancient bridges, hill forts, the healing waters of St Ronan’s Wells and the many characters (some famous, others infamous!) who have shaped the history of the area.
All walks start and finish at the Memorial Hall, Innerleithen and last no more than two hours.

Stuart Wilson, Innerleithen Cycling History
Innerleithen local Stewart Wilson presents an illustrated talk looking at 5 decades of Mountain Biking in Innerleithen and The Tweed Valley, focusing on the role played by local folk.

From motorbike trails and early pioneers, the Downhill boom of the 1990’s, and the phenomenal success of Glentress right through to the current day and the rise of Enduro, this aims to be an entertaining, fun and thought-provoking trip down memory lane.
